West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has stated that he is not worried about the continual rumours linking Dimitri Payet with a summer exit, as the French playmaker is happy with the Hammers.

The 29-year-old attacking midfielder has been one of the Premier League’s best players this season, which was confirmed yesterday as he was named amongst the six-man shortlist for the PFA Player of the Year award.

Payet’s stunning form for club and country has led to speculation over his future, with Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid reportedly being joined by Paris Saint-Germain in the chase for his services.

Despite some of Europe’s biggest clubs being interested in the former Lille and Marseille attacker, Bilic has stated that there are no indications that Payet will look to leave West Ham at the end of the season.

“He’s enjoying it here, it’s obvious,” Bilic is quoted as saying by The Express.

“In every training session and in every minute that he’s spending here. And we are enjoying him, he’s enjoying us.

“When the players play good there are always going to be rumours and interest from the big clubs.

“What can you do? What should I tell him? Drop him or tell him to start playing bad so he is going to stay with us for 10 years?

“‘Score some own goals but we’re going to have you for five years here!’”

The West Ham fans will hope that Payet can spearhead a successful 2016-17 season for the Hammers following a move to the Olympic Stadium.
