This could be a real boost for West Ham ahead of Chelsea

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has said he is not sure whether Eden Hazard will start against the Hammers on Saturday.

The Belgian winger was dropped to the bench in last week’s 2-0 home victory over Aston Villa, playing just eight minutes in that game.

Hazard returned to the starting line up on Tuesday night, playing the 90 minutes in a Champions League tie against Dynamo Kiev.

When Mourinho was questioned over Hazard’s place in the starting eleven, his reply gave very little away:

“I don’t know.

“He played the last game and played for 90 minutes, and was part of the compact team that kept a clean sheet.”

It seems that Mourinho is almost convincing himself to play one of his best players. Hazard has struggled for form this season but he is more than capable of producing a moment of magic that could prove vital in the clash against the Hammers.

The Chelsea manager also claimed that his side are not afraid despite their poor form in the league so far this season:

“At this moment in the Premier League, we are not afraid to lose matches. We are going to play normal.”

Although it may seem like a good time to play Chelsea, Slaven Bilic will be more than aware of the threat the champions pose.

Mourinho also offered his opinion on West Ham’s manager:

“As a coach, I like him a lot,” he said. “As a person, I don’t know him very well, but I have the feeling that we could be friends.”
