West Ham are upping their offer for Manchester United front man Javier Hernandez as the club become more and more determined to complete a deal for the Mexican striker.

The new bid is understood to be in the region of around £12 million, a significant increase considering the club initially tabled an £8 million for the striker.

Louis Van Gaal has been reluctant to sell Hernandez this summer as his Manchester United side looks quite bare up front. Although this may be the case, the player was an unused substitute in United’s game against Tottenham this weekend and the 27-year-old is desperate to play regular first team football.

It looks as if West Ham are waiting on a response from Manchester United with the deal becoming a lot clearer if the Red Devils sign Barcelona forward Pedro this week. Even if a deal does not go through for the Spanish international, a bid of around £12 million for a player that does not feature in Van Gaal’s first team plans could be hard to turn down.

Hernandez is clearly the priority as a potential move for Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin looks more and more unlikely at this stage due to his £15 million asking price.

Is Javier Hernandez a better option than Charlie Austin?

Time to get this done, Davids. Act soon and with confidence and the side will shine. It’s a no-brainer.

Still preference for Austin, but get one of the two signed up in time for the weekend! and lets put the sorry Barton saga behind us!
