Striker situation: Zaza says no

WHUcover-600x382

Despite a number of reports hailing our move for Simone Zaza today, the deal looks to be well and truly off. According to the ever-reliable @ExWHUemployee on Twitter, Zaza has opted to stay in Italy after the ‘situation at his club has changed’. This points to Fernando Llorente’s move from Juventus to Spanish side Sevilla.

If Llorente leaves the club, there is more of an opportunity for Simone Zaza to get into the Juventus team, thus prompting him to reject the Hammers and stay in Italy. Zaza looks like yet another target that the club are set to miss out on and now the options appear to be running out fast. Emmanuel Adebayor and Burak Yilmaz still look like potential transfers at the moment but the jury is still out on them. However, with very slim pickings up front at the moment; can Hammers fans afford to be picky?
