In Sam Allardyce We Trust

|

Big SamWest Ham manager Sam Allardyce is all set to sign a new three year deal at the club which could take him into the Olympic Stadium, but not after he sees the East end club to Premier League safety.

This news will come as the “start of the end” for some of the Hammers faithful, as his “direct style of play just isn’t the West Ham way”.

Forever West Ham is now on Google+, so be sure to find us on there by quite simply (and rather unsurprisingly) searching ‘Forever West Ham’

To all those critics I say to you, when was the last time we saw that free flowing attacking football? Redknapp, Pardew, Lyall? Which style of play has been most effective for West Ham United? Stats stack up in Big Sam’s favour. The Dudley born manager has the best win rate as a manager.

Yes it may not be pretty at times, and yes it can be frustrating to watch at times, but you cannot argue with the job the big man has done. He had two objectives when he joined the club. 1. Get us up back to the Premier League in two years. Something he achieved in one albeit via the play offs. 2. Keep the Irons up when they got up, which fingers crossed he is well on his way to achieving.

He hasn’t really failed at all in his time at West Ham, and for that reason alone I firmly believe he deserves a new contract. He may be one directional, his football away from home may be nothing short of awful in the Premier League. But he has got the players to have fire in their bellies something that clearly lacked in Grant’s reign in charge.

You have to admire his blasé attitude as manager and I respect him for not signing the deal straight away despite agreeing terms. Right from the word go, when he walked through the tunnel at Upton Park and he demanded respect and he immediately showed desire and bottle when he faced attack from the media about the so called “West Ham way” when he said, “from what I’ve seen recently, the West Ham way is losing”

Looking for experience? Just want to be heard outside of the Boleyn? We are currently looking for writers, drop us an email at foreverwestham@snack-media.com for more details

He gave me one of the most memorable days of my life [At Wembley] and he has produced some big results for us in his time here. It’s good to have a manager who understands the passion and history at West Ham rather than a foreign manager who is clueless about West Ham.

I ask you doubters, who’d you rather have Di Canio, Di Matteo? Behave. In Big Sam we trust.

Come on you Irons!

In Big Sam we put up with more like. But for how Long is the real question? The point is we can’t afford to rock the boat at the moment. If we are all honest we would swap him for a manager who would have our team playing fancier football but who would that man be? Every option is a risk we simply can not afford to take until we are firmly in the OS. How can a team be so blunt and simply boring to watch away from home and so determined to win at home? He is very frustrating as a manager but would seem to be moving the club in the right direction if diagonally as opposed to straight ahead!

All the Big Sam haters need to put the bile away, and wake up in the real world.

The past (which I’ve enjoyed for over 40 years)…….IS the PAST!

Reality check…… Big Sam has done EVERYTHING and supporter could wish for….on a Budget (take note, you’ll see that word again). He turned the club around from the meltdown that it was in by returning up to the premiership at the very first time of asking….. yes you guessed it, on a BUDGET as we lost much experience and quality on the way to meltdown after relegation. It was probably more crucial than we realise gaining promotion at the first attempt because everything is linked to us being a premiership club ie finances and the OS bid.

I can’t understand what so many so called supporters can’t get their heads around. So I put it down to a lack of knowledge and experience. When we were relegated Big Sam had to acquire and assemble players on the cheap (Finances) who were capable of returning us to the premiership at the first time of asking as well as releasing players on big wages (this is where EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE comes in), he had to get players on free’s as well as players of known character and personality to him. The biggest and most important signing for him and in my opinion was a CAPTAIN, something we hadn’t had for a few years. Someone who had experience in the championship as well as personality on and off the pitch….. Step up Nolan! Whatever some may think, the more knowledgeable will understand this signing completely.

Roll on and we are in the Premiership, looks like we will retain our status, have just been named as the OS main tenant, will be able to keep our better players and attract better players………………

And YES, Big Sam will now have a better BUDGET to get BETTER Players, to build a BETTER team!

Now what do these Big Sam haters NOT understand???
Is there someone out there worth gambling on who could come in, give it the bertie big….. get sacked with a golden handshake only to put us back in the cart???

    Wake up, will you!

Well said pal, couldn’t have put it better myself.

Our fans really do seem split over whether he should stay or go; or maybe the minority just seem more vocal. The guy ha done a great job. He may not be the man to get us challenging for Europe (or maybe he is) but he is about the best manager in the league for stabilising this club. A 3 year contract all but guarantees that we will be an established premier league team when we move, which is an absolute must.
I for one was made up when appointed him, as I knew we wouldn’t be spending the next 5-10 years in the fizzy pop. Our club was a shambles when he took over just under 2 years ago, and it is nothing short of a miracle that we are 1 win away from safety in the prem with 8 games to go. We’ve played some decent stuff at home, and though our football away from home isn’t easy on the eye, our record is still better than almost all in the bottom half of the table, much better than the media has suggested in recent months.
And lets be honest there is a myth about the west ham way and Sams style of football. His style may be direct, but it’s not long ball, and were our fans really happier the year we had Zola when we were n easy touch, regularly got smashed and finished on a points total that should have relegated us? Some of our fans are embarrassing, if we had guardiolla as manager and messi and Ronald’s leading the attack, some of them would still find a reason to bitch and cry over something or other

Spot on mate! Now is not the time to loose our nerve! We have come so far since the near oblivion that the Icelandic disaster and grant debacle brought apon us! We must hold our nerve! COYI!

  • Phil the iron says:

In Big Sam we trust! Correct!
The same reasons he was made manager are the same reasons he should have been hired in the first place(he’s better than Zola, better than o’neil and better than grant ever could be!).
And those reasons apply even more now as we build up to the OS!
Namely he is a safe pair of hands that is slowly eradicating the yo-yo performances that have plagued the club over the years!
We need his experience to keep us up whilst building towards the sort of team that will be needed in the OS!
Without his considerable no-how there is a danger that we could get carried away with a flash in the pan “name” type of manger that would set the roller coaster running to disaster! And relegation!
So yes in Big Sam we should trust! He is not perfect as we all know but he has been good for us! COYI!

  • Essex iron says:

I for one am not a big Sam fan but I must admit he has got the team looking exactly like that aa team .
he Plays with a kind of negative way but at this point in time it’s working…and right Now with the OS we need to be a stable club. and he has certainly stabilized us . so for now I’m backing the big man but after we are mathematically safe I’d like to see him try 2up front and see what Sam can really do
