Diame Happy At West Ham

|

Diame against SunderlandRecent speculation suggests that powerhouse midfielder Mohammed Diame is loving his time at West Ham United and doesn’t expect it to end soon.

The Senegal international has been a fan favourite since his free transfer from Wigan Athletic last summer, and after fleeting displays of his power, speed and ambition he has helped drive West Ham into a comfortable position as the season’s end looms.

After recent speculation about a possible move away from Upton Park, Diame declared that he sees himself staying with the Hammers for years to come.

The midfield partnership between Diame and engine-like Mark Noble has been nothing short of brilliant with one usually sitting back whilst the other goes rampaging forward, no prizes for guessing who is who.

Diame became a fan favourite through great displays, but a magical table-turning performance against Chelsea reinforced that as he drove West Ham (at a fierce pace) to a 3-1 victory in front of the Hammers faithful.

In my opinion this is absolutely fantastic news for both the team and us fans alike, however, recently on Twitter I was confronted by a fellow Hammer who wouldn’t mind Diame being part of a deal to bring on loan striker Andy Carroll to Upton Park on a permanent basis.
Do you feel he is integral in our chances of succeeding in the future, or should he be sold at a good price.

  • Terry says:

Must keep Diame, Carrol will be to expensive and dos’nt score enough goals for the retarded prices being suggested – 17 Million. Bottom line Carrol will be easier replaced at lower money than Diame will be.

  • John J - Ripon says:

Would love him to stay, but don’t expect him to. If he’s so happy, why didn’t he want to extend his contract/raise the release clause figure in January?

  • Alan Taylor says:

personally i would rather keep hold of Diame and let Carroll go.
Yes i think Carroll is a very good striker and he works very hard up front but i feel we miss the players of the standard of Cottee and Macevenie, players who played as a striking team and scored plenty of goals.Hopefully with the move to the new stadium money can be raised for the better players to be purchased
Also i have no problems with the occasional long ball but feel with Carroll playing but feel with him up front the long ball option is used far too much as the easy option and gone are the days of the hammers playing the ball around on the floor

Keep diame and buy bony in my opinion much better value for money I do like Carroll though.

  • Dave Lea says:

If he is so happy and sees many more years with us, why has he not signed an improved deal with no (or larger) buyout clause. The transfer speculation will be even greater come the summer, its aleady started again since the liverpool game, and only 1 man can put a stop to it. If a champions leage team comes in for him I fully expect him to be on his way

Is there a quote from diame to back this up?

Great news if its true but I find it hard to believe that he’ll stick around if the big clubs come calling in the summer.

  • Max says:

Have to keep Diame. Integral player in our team in my opinion alongside the likes of Reid & Noble

  • DongHyun says:

During watching games, i think his face implies that he is not satisfied with his teammate

  • Tom E Hammer says:

I love Momo Diame. He is an exceptional player that can really blossom under Big Sam. We should buy BOTH Andy Carroll and Wilfred Bony as well as keep a tight grip on Momo. Can you imagine that line up in the Olympic Stadium in a couple of years!

  • Tom E Hammer says:

Another thought, if Andy Carroll proves to be too much money we should go after Carlos Tevez and bring him back to where his premiership heart lies and bring in Wilfrd Bony too. Our strike force would be amazing then. COYI!

  • Tony says:

Ac is too much for what he is and to be honest if we are realistic our transfer budget will be around 30mill, i look on most news sites to check the gossip but we need to sit tight and see what the boss’s do, bony looks and sounds great, so does bringing tevez back as hes now a bench warmer for city, diame is a great player but lets face it in this game money talks

  • sibbo says:

    got to keep diame

  • Scott says:

I dont see any quotes here, what is a story without quotes? it’s a story!!

  • Aussie Peter says:

Remember he came free from Wigan. Credit to SA for bringing out his great talents. He should want to stay and I hope he does. The stroll through the Liverpool defence followed by a shot only a bit high was fantastic.
