FOUR things we learnt against Wigan

|

After West Ham’s defeat to Wigan in the Capital One Cut what have we learnt about West Ham??

1. Don’t underestimate ANY team – West Ham should know this more than any other team that every game is a must win game and there is no place for complacency in the team, especially against a team like Wigan who are so accustomed to fighting for survival. It’s up to Sam Allardyce to get them up for the fight, granted this was a Cup game but a good Cup run adds to a winning mentality.

Are you on Facebook? Excellent, so are we http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

2. Leaking Goals – West Ham leaked 4 goals against a team that lets be honest are not renowned for their goal scoring abilities? Is this a bad day at the office? Personally I feared for West Ham at the start of the season when we signed both Henderson and Jaaskelainen, a keeper with no great experience and a keeper that has seen better days. I think this is an area that needs improved and assessed, what about the likes of Craig Gordon who is an excellent keeper without a club?

3. Scoring Goals – This is a strange one for me because I believe that there is a lot of goals in the West Ham team, we just need to find the balance to play them all, for me Andy Carroll, Modibo Maiga, Ricardo Vaz Te, Kevin Nolan and even Carlton Cole have goals in their locker we need to prize it out of them. Nolan has been scoring but we can’t just rely on him with the attacking players we have at our disposal.

4. Ivan Ramis the nemesis – After he came so closed to signing for West Ham, is he going to be a player that is always going to score and play well against us?

So after the 4-1 Capital One Cup defeat and the 2-1 league defeat yesterday against Wigan it seems point 5 may be the most important point of them all, a lot of fans are now saying we need to improve everywhere after yesterdays defeat but I personally feel that we need a little more depth in the team but also it seems that Wigan are just a bogey club for us??

    1) James Tomkins will never be a right back all the time he has a hole in his arse.

    2) Wally Downes (defensive coach) needs to spend less time on twitter and more time actually coaching defending.

    3) After a good result the week before, they shouldn’t go to places like Wigan and think they’re going to just roll over.

4)They need a striker who’s going to score goals instead of huffing and puffing and going through the motions, top scorer Nolan (Midfielder)

So typical West Ham its almost laughable…this has been going on since the 1960s…look brilliant one week, then go North of Watford the next and look like a Non-League outfit like yesterday. Ive been trying to analyse this club and their performances for nigh on 50 years and still havent a clue what goes on…Welcome to the wonderful wacky world of West Ham United folks !!!!!!

  • I thought it showed we have no pace in defence, something Rio would not bring to us. Our midfield looked tired and off the pace, were they playing to high up the field ?
