Well, there have been some crazy news reports about him today. Apparently the striker, who is now playing in the third tier of German football, faked his own kidnapping.
He called his family while in Bangkok, told them he had been kidnapped and said that the ransom was € 25,000.

His family –obviously concerned – got in touch with the Embassy who then informed the police, and Savio has been arrested for money extortion.
I’m sorry, but I can’t get my head around this – surely a professional footballer doesn’t need to try and con his family out of cash?
