Would we really take him back?

|

With rumours swirling round that Rob Green may be allowed to move on from QPR in January on a free transfer, the question is, would you have him back at West Ham United?

The fastest growing Hammers website is now on Facebook, click the link to be entered into our up and coming competitions http://www.facebook.com/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

I for one would say that I definitely would. Even though he may have burnt a few bridges leaving on a free to QPR, he’s still a quality keeper and I think that he offers a more solid choice than Jussi Jääskeläinen (although JJ was immense against QPR).

I think the move has definitely backfired on him, and I don’t think he’ll have a relationship with any fans as good as the one he had with those at West Ham.

But, whether he would want to return to the club he rejected with his tail between his legs is another matter, as is whether David Gold and Sullivan would want to accept his return.

Looking for experience? Just want to be heard outside of the Boleyn? We are currently looking for writers, drop us an email at foreverwestham@snack-media.com for more details

At the start of September, QPR manager Mark Hughes said: “If in the future any of my keepers came to me and said they felt their future lay elsewhere then we can have a conversation about that and make a decision that benefited everyone.

But at the moment it’s early days and the challenge is there for all my keepers.”

What do you lot think? Would you have him back or do you want to see him resigned to the bench at QPR for leaving the Hammers in the first place? Let me know by tweeting me at @alwaysintune or leaving a comment.

HELL NO!!!! Jussi is a great player and the 1-2 years he will be at the club Henderson will come on leaps and bounds and develop into a great player. Why would we want Green back its no coincidence we have kept 3 (almost 4 except for a tarbaatt wonder goal) this season even though Jussi has had to make the most saves in the prem compared to any other keeper so far!

We are a better team and he wouldn’t get into our squad

Jussi has proved he is a much better goalie than Green. If Green had still been here we wouldn’t of had the clean sheets we have had in the league and we would probably be on 2 pts like QPR.

I love greeny but at the same time he makes me nervous like no other. Jussi has been doing very well and while he may not be as good of a shot stopper as Green is he seems to be better at organizing everything.

People have very short memories…How many times over the years did Rob Green save us from defeats or even heavier defeats…loads You don get Hammer Of The Year easily (2008)so lets be fair to the guy. Personally, Jussi has always been a great favourite of mine, and im just amazed that he hasnt joined one of the bigger clubs over the years, so Im more than happy with him between the sticks. However, Rob Green was a good keeper, is a decent man, and it gives me no pleasure watching him squirm in his current embarrasing position. Id be more more than happy to have him back at the club (cant see it happening mind you), though whether he would dislodge Jussi from top spot is another matter. COYI.

Not in ail lion years he can rot on word bench for all I care money grabber!!!

  • Bas Hextall says:

He left because we would not meet his wage demands.I would welcome him back as he is a great keeper, but what makeS us prepared to meet his wage wants now?

  • Whupt says:

JJ makes Green look brilliant. Terrible clearances in every game, punching easy catches and although he did well last night he spilled a simple catch at the near post for a corner.
Definately need a new keeper even if it’s not Green.

No chance! Whilst he was a great keeper at west ham and was underpaid compared to some of the muppets signed during the old regime, he’s on a downward slope now and is past his best. I didn’t blame him for wanting to leave but couldn’t believe he left for QPR… Proved he was simply after the money. If he left to further his career no problem, but QPR who attract a misery 15k attendance… please! Let him rot on the bench as far as I’m concerned!

  • Dave says:

I wouldn’t have said this a few week ago but Jussi and Green are about on the same level. So no. He should learn the hard way the consequences of turning your back on a club and its fans. Us fans we’re brilliant towards him throughout the world cup mistake

  • Micky says:

What else people do forget about him is he wanted out a couple of years ago cos apparently wanted more money but at that stage of his career he was making mistake after mistake once he jut concentrated in vein a goal keeper his performances picked up and funnily enough once money has got involves again within his performances drop why would you take him back? Gonna be on more money then he was before and the performances will be just the same as he performed for qpr!! That’s why he’s sitting in the bench his face said it all during the game fuck him and his money! It would be the same thing if people were saying they wanted upson back same situation performers stank and wanted more money would you take him back?

  • blimey says:

Rob Green is a quality keeper and seems like a quality human being, of course you’d want him back at West Ham, only an idiot would hold his leaving against him….

  • Zoe says:

I don’t give a rat’s arse what happens to him at QPR, and whether he gets benched; I care purely about the best interests of West Ham, full stop.

Jussi has displayed the reflexes of a much younger player and delivered quality saves for us (Swansea hell apart).

Things can change massively between now and Jan. If (IF) it would benefit the club at THAT time, for whatever reason, I’ll back whoever pulls on the shirt – but in the meantime I have no sympathy for or interest in how Greeno progresses (or not), there. He made the choice; he’ll live with the consequences.

  • wes c says:

Def NO !!! He looked like a spoilt little brat on the bench when they scored on Monday , didn’t even move !!! Greedy , we were good to him so ROT !!!!

  • safhammer says:

He left for money, he’s got that. He didn’t leave to get more game time, he ain’t got that!
Warming the bench is a job, isn’t it?

  • Ausie John says:

It’s people we all go for the extra £ all he wants to do to survive after football but l know where all our supporters think that’s life we say he’s great at our club when he leaves more money stuff him that’s the way people think l would take him back

  • Jacob says:

Guy give it a rest. Rob is a great person and if you were in his shoes you would have gone as well. You gotta remember that in his
Ind the new ways of QPR might have seemed a reasonable option for him if he was ever gonna get back into the national team. Give him some credit and welcome him back if we ever get the chance. The Finn is whether you like it or not not really a long term solution. Rob can still be. Regards from Denmark.

  • andy says:

I’d have him back in a flash if the deal was right. Of course he went for the money.Even if he went for another 5 grand a week(and no doubt a decent signing on fee)all of those who are accusing him of it would no doubt change jobs for 5 grand a YEAR.He was underpaid compared to a lot of the new signings and until Parker started getting into the England squad was our only regular international.Margetson couldn’t speak highly enough of him,and the jury is out on Jussi’s kicking, handling and decison making. If it’s right in Jan, I’d grab him.
