Lets raid Wolverhampton Wanderers?

|

With Wolverhampton Wanderers finally slipping through the Premier League trap door into the Championship there are bound to be a few clubs sniffing round their better players.

As West Ham know only too well, there will be financial pressures for the club to consider and they will have to decide which players to try & keep to aid their swift return to the top flight and which players they want to cash in on to invest in the team. There will also be one or two players who feel they are too good to drop down with their team-mates & will agitate for a move away.

Here is a look at which of their players might be able to do a job for West Ham next season depending on which division we find ourself playing in.

The fastest growing Hammers website is now on Facebook, click the link to be entered into our up and coming competitions http://www.facebook.com/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

Steven Fletcher

This Scottish striker manages to score some important goals against some very good teams, particularly with his head & despite playing in a poor team.

Verdict – Better alternative to Carlton Cole & John Carew, could do a good job if we go up

Alternative – We are bound to be linked with Yakubu again if Blackburn go down, he’s still doing the business in the Premier League despite being written off last year by David Sullivan.

Wayne Hennessey

This Welsh International is a good all round goalkeeper and at 25 years old he has his best years ahead of him

Verdict – Good signing if Rob Green decides to leave, most likely if we’re still in the Championship.

Alternative – Big Sam’s favourite, Jussi Jaaskelainen if Bolton suffer the drop

Matt Jarvis

This winger will probably look for a move away to keep up his England ambitions. An excellent crosser of a ball, he first came to the attention of most Hammers fans when Wolves stunned us 1-3 in a relegation battle at the Boleyn in March 2010

Verdict – Would be a great acquisition if we go up

Alternative – Ravel Morrison could provide great competition for the left wing slot if given a run in the team.

Looking for experience? Just want to be heard outside of the Boleyn? We are currently looking for writers, drop us an email at foreverwestham@snack-media.com for more details

Roger Johnson

This centre-half has suffered consecutive relegations with Birmingham & now Wolves but both times he has been playing in poor sides

Verdict – Would give some much-needed experience to the Hammers Premier League defence alongside James Tomkins

Alternatively;

Popular Wolves defender Jody Craddock would be good addition if we find ourselves still in the Championship next season. Their former player of the year leads by example, has experience of winning that division & also chips in with important goals.

There is very little history of West Ham & Wolves doing transfer business but then we didn’t have the likes of Big Sam as manager in the past!

Couldnt agree more with this, wolves have some top players none more exciting than steven fletcher who would be a great acquisition if we are in the premiership next year and he now has a proven record scoring for poor teams in the prem (wolves and Burnley) Matt Jarvis will likely go to a bigger club to be fair i think Liverpool were interested last summer but again good signing, I think Johnson and Tompkins would be solid at the back too

You must be having a laugh with Henessey. Havent you seen him play? Total garbage. We could do much better.

West who??? i got news for you, if we sell any players, as we dont have to, because un like you we dont need the money, but if we decide to sell any players to a prem side, they will want to go to a big club and not west ham!!!
Before you go thinking of raiding a club, set your sights a bit lower, as your just a small club in London and we are the the main and only club in the City of Wolverhampton with massive support and a club with a massive history, so go and tottle on back to London as one of the Minoes of the London clubs!! WHO ARE YA!!!
