Always believe in our Cole

|

Always believe in Carlton Cole, a player who some fans have stopped believing in the forward who was expected to get twenty plus goals this season has struggled to find consistency all season.

The West Ham number nine has scored 11 goals so far this season and has been out shone by January signing Ricardo Vaz Te who has almost already over-taken Cole goal tally in just 11 starts.

But is the abuse Cole gets unfair?

The fastest growing Hammers website is now on Facebook, click the link to be entered into our up and coming competitions http://www.facebook.com/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

Following his two home goals in two games could Cole be turning his inconsistent form upside down and be warming up for a Zamora-esque run in the play offs. Fans who question the effort of Cole need to look at themselves, not only is wrong to get on the back of any player but a player who has been around the Hammers squad for nearly 6 years. But a player who has given us so many

memories, who will forget that cracking one touch move at the JJB a few years ago which Cole so coolly finished off.

Yes we all expected so much more from Cole, but to say we’ve been frustrated is an understatement but the link up play between himself and Vaz Te is promising ahead of the big play-off games.

Cole’s goal against Birmingham drew the Hammers out of a hole and helped to get the Hammers an important point.

Cole, 28 who joined the Hammers in 2006 from Chelsea scored on his debut against Charlton with his first touch. Has scored 11 goals this season, and it frustrates me when I stand in the Bobby

Moore Lower to hear fans moan and gripe about Cole, who is as committed as they come and despite playing on his own up top has got in to double figures with some very poor assistance from

midfield.

His hard work is a joy to see and seeing him run at defenders in a joy to see, who will forget his goal against Liverpool last season as he burst through and smashed home. How short a memory do some Hammers have? Hero one minute villain the next, I for one will back you Carlton, you commitment and pride to play for the club is refreshing and a joy to see.

I think that the expectation of Cole from the fans has put pressure on Cole who may not be the most natural of finishers but he works hard to get into positions and with Big Sam’s tactics I fear it means that Cole is finding it hard to find the level of consistency he craves. Not only does he struggle to find consistency but every West Ham fan knows Cole is a confidence player and he isn’t going to gain any confidence sitting on the bench.

So instead of getting on the players back, ranting and raving at him why not get behind and let’s watch him thrive and give back what we give him. I expect Cole to team up with Vaz Te in the play offs and fire us to glory and I look forward to celebrating a Wembley goal from Carlton Cole.

Come on You Irons!

For me Cole simply isn’t good enough. He may look as if he is working hard but his first touch is often pathetic and for a man of his size he barely wins a header. Without Zola’s arm round his shoulder he is not up to it.
I also don’t think Cole gets much abuse at the games either really, there a sighs when he regularly loses the ball but he is always applauded off and his name sung, what else do you and him want?

Agree with you there Brad, I think there is certainly a feeling around the ground that every fan wants him to do well, but mostly disappointed with his first touch and the way he seems to wander around the pitch. Cant blame the midfield totally as he has missed a hatfull of chances, shame as I thought he may be the man to fire us up to the promised land.

Why do you think capello called Cole up for England ? because he is capable of scoring goals at any level. Zola had him playing to his strenths. Sam has not always used him well. Cole is carrying an injury in the last game everything went through Cole they are so busy putting 2 defenders on cole that VAZ TE HAS BEEN ABLE TO DO THE BUSINESS.

Carlton Cole simply isn’t very good, he has now proved that he can’t score at any level, his first touch is appaling he is useless in the air and mishits 90% of the shots he takes. As a proffesional footballer earning more a week than I do in a year for actually being able to do my job, I feel am am well within my rights to tell him he is crap because quite simply he is. On top of this he had the chance to move in the summer thus bringinging in much needed cash to the club and reducing the wage bill and he refused to go.

It’s about time someone made a post like this. Without Cole up top we would have had serious problems this year. His hold up play is vital.. Get off his back!

Not being funny but i could work hard and run around for 90minutes but coles end product is abismal. 9 times out of 10 he will give the ball away and he has missed so many chances this year. He’s also thick as s*** and provides no footballing brain. When has he contributed any decent link up play this year? I struggle to remember. When Vaz plays up front we are so much more threatning rather than cole forcing Vaz onto the left of midfield. I for one would drop cole and have Vaz up top and matty taylor providing balls from out wide and if Big sam wants to go 4-4-2 then i would play Maynard or baldock who has been unlucky not to play more with him
