Striking reinforcements are desperately needed if we are to finally usurp Southampton at the top of the table. I actually think that since they’ve been at the club Gold and Sullivan have done good business in January windows; anyone remember Ilan? The Brazilian striker we signed two years ago; he scored vital goals to keep us up in the 09/10 season and of course last year there was that man Demba Ba who made an immediate impact after his arrival from Hoffenheim.
Our inability to stick the ball in the back of the net cost us last month as we only won one fixture out of five; more options are clearly needed the caveat to that is we will have to pay over the odds to get our man. The question is are the powers that be prepared for this? The evidence so far would suggest not.
