Hammers seal comfortable win over Spurs

|

West Ham Ladies got their season back on track with a 3-0 home win over Tottenham Hotspur Ladies on Sunday.

The result lifts the Hammers back up to second in the FA Women’s Premier League South division, three points behind leaders Brighton and Hove Albion Ladies. West Ham sit one point ahead of Colchester United Ladies in third whilst fourth placed Portsmouth Ladies are two points behind the Hammers but with a game in hand.

West Ham dominated their encounter with Tottenham, scoring three first half goals to effectively end the contest before half time.

The Hammers made the perfect start as they looked to climb back up the table after dropping points in recent weeks. Midfielder Carly Roache found the net with a volley to put the home side in control after only two minutes. West Ham doubled their lead thanks to a stroke of luck in the 28th minute, Gemma Shepherd’s high cross catching out the Spurs’ keeper and finding the corner of the net. West Ham added the third just before half time; Shepherd converting a penalty after Tracey Duxbury was fouled in the box.

It was the perfect result for the Hammers as they look to close the gap on the leaders. Next up the Ladies travel to face bottom club Millwall Lionesses, another good opportunity to keep the push for promotion going.

Elsewhere in the league Gillingham Ladies drew with Queens Park Rangers Ladies 1-1 whilst two of the Hammers’ closest league rivals, Colchester and Portsmouth also played out the same result. League leaders Brighton could only draw away to Keynsham Town Ladies 2-2 whilst the Hammers next opponents Millwall picked up an away point with a 1-1 draw against Plymouth Argyle Ladies.

Ohhh I feel the testosteone rising in here. Billy be nice to the little ones, it isn’t nice provoking them … they go all purple and spotty in the face, folk might think they’re ready for the funny farm.
Spud hater … have you read what you are writing? Honestly I am getting more of a laugh at you than the original article (and that was friggin hysterical). LOL fighting relegation is more fun that fighting to get right to the top … hilarious.(do you actually believe that?).
Olympic stadium… does any real team really want that? you would need a seriously large pair of binoculars to have a clue whats going on.. Levy cleverly used it as leverage to upgrade the transport facilities near WHL … Just using the situation.
When you become able to string a coherent argument together feel free to join the grownups. Until them go back the the little league with your little team.
If this upsets you feel free to cuddle your teddy bear 😉 cos he thinks you are just sooo cute.

Honestly, you Shammers are so ungrateful, especially after we lent you Robby Keane (ROFLMAO).

I heard that when the riots were on, Wet Shammers were very upset because they couldn’t afford the bus fare to anywhere worth looting.

i heard at tottenham riots you lot broke into ya ticket office and gave em all back. oh yeah us spuds are such a big team, no your not you think your a big team and your fans are muppets . cant wait to return to take the piss, irons!

Wow: Only took you two days to think up that one. You must be the clever Wet Sham fan, the one that can read and write.

You can’t wait? You are going to have to as long as the Brady Bunch are in charge.

You obviously don’t get it do you? What a farce your club has become when beating Spurs ladies (while your youth team is losing to us) is cause for celebrating.

I never used to gloat about the misfortunes of your team until the ponces took over and seem to think it was more important to snipe at Spurs, rather than deal with the internal problems of a once proud club. Anyway, fans like you don’t deserve any better than the ponces.

All snide remarks aside, look at the number of Wet Sham fans who are celebrating this momentous win.

With the exception of Spuds Hater, there seems to be nobody from Wet Sham who thinks this is one of their finest hours.

Do you think that Moore, Hurst and Peters would be “spinning this” as even newsworthy.

Clearly I have underrated the significance of this event. At least you think it’s important.

What a sad like you must lead,
