Jimenez signs for Benfica
West Ham striking target Raul Jimenez has opted to sign for Portuguese side Benfica on a five-year deal.
There was never a real feeling of enthusiasm from the fans surrounding a potential deal for the Mexican striker due to the fact that he played little football last season, scoring just one goal for Atletico Madrid.
Things became even worse when Jimenez failed to show up for his West Ham medical, claiming that he slept in and missed his flight to London. Benfica are reported to have paid around £700,000 for the striker’s services and you cannot help but feel that West Ham dodged a bullet here.
