Saturday was a day full of so many positives and there was an extra one behind the scenes.
In the club’s usual matchday insider video, David Martin is seen standing at the bottom of the tunnel congratulating each and every player as they returned to the dressing room despite not even being in the squad.
His clear desire to be involved in the proceedings and visible strong relationship with the players surely make him a future coaching candidate.
The ‘keeper may have not featured since that terrible night in Sheffield, but us fans will never forget his debut at Chelsea and that relationship has been strengthened by these actions – that’s what we love to see fringe players doing.
Martin is such a likeable character, glad to see him with such a positive rapport with the players here
I think I love this man right here

Hope Martin stays at the club even if in a non playing role he’s clearly one of us and all the players seem to love him. ⚒

Really nice to see a pro footballer who is just so clearly chuffed to be involved at any https://t.co/VIhOzmbESr bloke and the sort of character we should be looking to keep at the club in so e capacity.
