Jonathan Calleri, remember him? Well, as you may have seen, he’s caused quite a stir on West Ham Twitter in the last 24 hours as fans reacted to his Europa League heroics.
In case you hadn’t heard, the flop of an ex-Hammer dazzled on the big stage on Thursday evening as his Espanyol side hosted Wolves, grabbing himself a hat-trick!
To be fair, one of them was a penalty but the other two were pretty neat finishes, although it wasn’t enough for his second new side since leaving east London as they were sent packing 6-3 on aggregate.
There’s not much much point getting excited about Calleri somehow coming of age and the possibility of re-signing him though as the strikes were the Argentine’s first since early January and before that he was without a goal since September.
Surely has to be one of our worst signings ever?
Of course Calleri starts banging in hat tricks in Europe, one of the worst players I’ve ever seen in a West Ham shirt

Amazing…Calleri couldnt hit a cow’s backside with a banjo at @WestHam yet gets a hat-trick tonight as wins Espanyol beat @Wolves 3-2 on the night, but @Wolves progress to the last 16 6-3 on aggregate.

Calleri getting a European hat-trick whilst we have the laziest, most useless strikers is another piece of pure West Ham ⚒

More goals today than in his last 23 games lol

We seem to make players worse

Tbf, it’s just a random good performance. 2 goals in 23 matches this season before today.

He wasn’t that bad, he just didn’t finish. But he got into position. He just needed a goal or two to boost his confidence

Remember when he was through on goal against Bournemouth at home.. shocker of a finish

He was pretty awful but doesn’t rank anywhere near the elites on the large list of former West Ham dreadful players
