We haven’t seen enough of Tomas Soucek to make any kind of solid judgement about him at this level.
But that hasn’t stopped loads of fans on social media from debating him and his performance in the defeat to Man City on Wednesday night.
According to WhoScored, the 6 ft 2 star was the joint-best Hammer on the pitch, tied with Fabianski.
This was with a match rating of 6.8 out of ten as Soucek won an impressive four aerial duels and two tackles, although he could only manage a miserly 58% pass success rate.
One supporter argued that the 24-year-old had a good game with a second disagreeing and suggesting that he’s a disaster on the pitch.
Tbf I thought Soucek had a good game tried to get forward more than any other midfielder

Souchek is slower than noble 😂 would take noble over him all day

Rice and Soucek could be the future of our centre midfield. Let them run the show and work things out.
Masuaku has 1 good game in 15 appearances.
Bowen will not only score goals but get Haller and others scoring more as well, only if he plays though.
Balbuena can’t pass.

Fair enough if that’s what you saw as you dnt get a full idea of a players contribution on tv. Not sure of his best position still as he’s so unpredictable and does not have a strikers instinct. Dnt see many mentioning Soucek, he was so poor and very much a passenger

No he shouldn’t Soucek shouldn’t have let him make the run

Ogbonna, Rice and Soucek played well I thought

Again, Ogbonna and Rice were our best players. Cresswell and Soucek weren’t bad. Antonio couldn’t have done any more without the ball or support. Noble was particularly bad tonight again.

Only positives for for (if you can grasp onto something) were the performances of Rice, Cresswell & Ogbonna. Soucek & antonio probably come out with a little bit of credit.. the rest offered nothing

Soucek worked his socks off. System doesn’t help when you’re set up so ridged. Cresswell done his job well, Snodgrass well off the pace, Noble well off the pace. System absolutely done Antonio, the guy was on a hiding to nothing. Moyes got it wrong again, system is to ridged.
