Fans on Twitter have been reacting to the news that West Ham Women’s Kate Longhurst has signed a new two-year contract with the club.

The midfielder joined from Liverpool ahead of entry to the WSL in summer 2018 and from scoring on her debut Matt Beard’s side’s first professional league goal, she’s gone from strength to strength.
Longhurst has been a key fixture in the team ever since her arrival, playing a big role in a solid first Women’s Super League campaign, the run to the FA Cup final and another stable term thus far, not missing a single match in 2019/2020.
And to top it all off, the 30-year-old is an Essex girl who’s been a West Ham supporter all of her life – a perfect fit in Beard’s side for many reasons.
