West Ham decide against Archer swoop

West Ham have decided against making a move for free agent goalkeeper Jordan Archer, according to Claret & Hugh

The 26-year-old has been without a club since leaving Millwall over the summer, and it is understood that he was being considered as a potential replacement for current stopper Roberto, who is struggling for form at the moment.

But according to a report from the reliable outlet, the Hammers have decided against making a move for the Scottish international on the basis of him having not played in several months.

This is probably a good idea from West Ham, truth be told. Obviously, Roberto is in pretty poor form at the moment, and the sooner he is ousted from the starting XI, the better. But the fact remains that Archer was let go by a side in the lower half of the Championship and has not been able to find a team since. Does that make him the right man to swoop in and save the Hammers? Very probably not. Things are looking bleak in eats London, but they could end up looking a lot bleaker if the board begin to rush into unnecessary decisions out of sheer panic. Lukasz Fabianski has been a huge miss, but the big Pole is back working with a ball again, as per Football.London, and the hope will be that the club can just hang with what they’ve got until he can make a full return.
