Frustration is starting to creep in at West Ham United this season, with Sebastien Haller becoming increasingly isolated in the final third.

The club-record signing has unsurprisingly hit the back of the net with ease for the Hammers when given opportunities, but the backup option in Albian Ajeti is simply not working, with the Swissman not being given the chance by Manuel Pellegrini to support the Frenchman.

Not many would have thought this at the time, but the decisions to let experienced Hammers’ duo Andy Carroll and Lucas Perez leave the club could have been a big mistake.

Pellegrini will be scratching his head wondering how to solve the potential problem of finding a consistent stream of goals, and looking elsewhere and seeing former players in red hot form will not be helping his case.

Perez made the decision to seal a move to Alaves in the summer and failed to score a single goal in his first six appearances in La Liga – something which West Ham fans will have found amusing.

Something they won’t like is seeing that the 31-year-old has now scored in five consecutive games for the Spaniards, including a wonder goal against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday evening.

Many West Ham fans reacted to that goal, with the majority is disbelief that Perez was able to score that sort of goal after what they saw from in the final third in his time in East London.

The decision to sell Perez wasn’t one that many disagreed with at the end, but his continued form alongside the fact that Haller is growing increasingly frustrated could mean that they could live to regret that particular decision.

Scoring in five straight games isn’t the easiest of tasks, but Perez will need to continue that form for him to be considered a successful purchase by Alaves.

Should both Perez continue his hot run of form, and the Hammers struggles go on, West Ham could really regret their decision to allow him to leave the club.
