West Ham are surely wasting precious time pursuing Juventus attacker Gonzalo Higuain as he is reportedly determined to stay put.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio previously claimed, via his official website, that the Hammers had proposed a loan-to-buy deal to Juventus for their 6ft tall attacker (Source: Transfermarkt).

However, while the Hammers are yet to have been reported as receiving a response to their proposal, Sky Sports have reported that despite Manuel Pellegrini’s side and AS Roma being keen on his services, Higuain is determined to stay at Juventus.

Given that the 31-year-old is meant to be determined, there’s no way the Hammers are going to be able to convince him to join.

Higuain spent the first-half of his 2018/19 campaign on loan at AC Milan, where he managed eight goals in 22 outings, before spending the second of his season on loan at Chelsea.

The veteran forward only managed five goals in 14 league outings for the London club, despite averaging 3.3 shots per game (Source: WhoScored), and surely having two slightly disappointing spells away have only made him want to stay at Juventus more.

After all, Higuain has a relatively successful 2017/18 campaign at the club as he scored 23 goals, while assisting eight, in the 50 outings he made for them.

Also the forward probably feels confident about getting his place back in Juventus’ first-team after brief spells away as Maurizio Sarri is now their manager.

The Italian boss was the one who brought him to Stamford Bridge and regularly played him for Chelsea as after all there was only one Premier League game he missed playing any part in after arriving.

So with that in mind, surely Higuain will feel justified in fighting to stay as there’s a chance Sarri could turn to him as he clearly trusts him.

So with that in mind, the Hammers are surely wasting their time pursuing him as based on his stance, a deal is going to be hard to reach.
