Many West Ham United fans are no doubt wondering where their next goals are going to come from after a sudden halt recently.

They suffered a rather disappointing 2-0 defeat to Everton last weekend, with some supporters no doubt left scratching their heads at what went wrong after their impressive comeback over Huddersfield before the international break.

Well, it is safe to say that the problem is with the attack – or lack of it, shall we say. Manuel Pellegrini handed a rare start to summer signing Lucas Perez, a selection which would have surprised many. That being said, Marko Arnautovic is hardly living up to the hype that surrounded his form at the start of the season.

So, just how will Pellegrini fix this abundantly clear issue?

One way he can get the fans smiling again is by utilising the quality of Xande Silva a lot more. According to Football London, the 22-year-old is set to make a return on April 15 after sustaining a hernia injury.

It is clear that the manager needs to explore other options at the moment, especially if he wants to keep the Irons’ dreams of qualifying for Europe alive. Silva was in good form before his setback, and he would provide an attacking outlet that has been lacking at West Ham recently.

Unleashing the young dazzler at this stage of the season could be absolutely pivotal for the team. Goals are needed, and he is someone who is more than likely to provide them.

Just take a look at how the likes of Declan Rice and Grady Diangana have progressed once they were given the platform to shine. If Silva can maintain the form he displayed before his injury, then there is no doubt that many of the fans will start to blow bubbles once again.
