West Ham United will want carry on where they finished this season with a bright start to the next campaign, and the only way they can do that is by recruiting this summer.

Yes, they did spend around £100 million last summer, but as it stands, most of those signings are injured, with the likes of Jack Wilshere, Carlos Sanchez and Andriy Yarmolenko currently on the sidelines.

That being said, a move for an attacking midfielder would be very wise this summer. Back in December, the Sun reported that the Hammers were interested in a move for Blackburn dazzler Bradley Dack, and this is a pursuit that they must revisit in the summer.

The 25-year-old has scored 15 goals in total this season, which is a pretty impressive figure for a player who does not operate as a striker in the slightest. To be honest, West Ham fans would be on their feet if it were a centre-forward with this kind of tally.

One of the Hammers’ own attacking midfielders, Samir Nasri, has not been up to scratch this term. The quality is there, but the consistency is not. Judging by Dack’s numbers, consistency does not seem to be a worry with him.

Him linking up with the likes of Felipe Anderson and Javier Hernandez would be a sight to behold, and it would certainly be a sight that would get many of the fans drooling. The report also stated that Crystal Palace were keen on him, and that does not come as a surprise.

He clearly has the ability to be in the right place at the right time in terms of goals, and with assists, he is not so bad at them either. Dack has eight to his name this season, which implies that the creativity is there too.

A move to east London would have the Hammers faithful bouncing at the prospect – it is up to the Irons chiefs to make it happen.
