After having spent around £100million in the summer transfer window, you would have thought that West Ham United were done and dusted in terms of transfers.

However, in terms of outgoings, one player that is set to leave the club – according to the Sun – could mean that the Hammers are forced to scour the January market for a replacement.

That player is striker Marko Arnautovic, who looks like he will be leaving to play his football in China.

Nevertheless, that does not mean there are not any forwards out there who have the attributes to replace him – and they should look no further than Sevilla attacker Wissam Ben Yedder, who is a potential target according to Football.London.

Having netted 16 goals in 28 games for the La Liga side so far this season, it is safe to say that those figures speak for themselves.

After all, the Spanish top-flight is one of the best in Europe with some of the best teams, so the 28-year-old would have no problem replicating that type of form in the Premier League.

With one of West Ham’s best summer signings Felipe Anderson providing the creativity and ammunition, then Ben Yedder would no doubt fire the Hammers to the next level.

16 goals in 28 games is pretty impressive, so there is no doubting that he has the ability to fill the boots of the Irons’ main talisman.

Arnautovic’s likely exit will leave a gaping hole up front that neither Andy Carroll or Lucas Perez are capable of filling – to a good standard anyway – so moving for Ben Yedder is absolutely essential.

It is about time West Ham had a goal machine on their books, and it looks like he could be the perfect fit.

West Ham fans need a striker who they can get excited about once again, so Manuel Pellegrini must get them bouncing by completing this stellar swoop.
