La Liga side Valencia met with the agent of West Ham striker Javier Hernandez on Tuesday to discuss a potential transfer, according to local radio show Tiempo de Descuento.

The programme, which airs on Intereconomia Valencia, report on Twitter that three club bosses had held a ‘definitive’ meeting with Eduardo Hernandez, who represents the Mexico international.

It is said however that a deal is now looking unlikely as the Hammers continue to reject a loan deal for the 30-year-old star.

A video is also posted showing Hernandez walking around the Mestalla, where the meeting took place.

OPINION

Despite today’s meeting between Hernandez and Valencia, it still looks unlikely that the Mexico international will end up at the Mestalla this month, even if he wants the move. West Ham would be loathe to let him leave without bringing in a replacement, and with just three days left in the window there is very little time for them to secure one. Despite the fact that he is playing a bit-part role at the London Stadium this season, Hernandez remains a very important squad player for Manuel Pellegrini at the London Stadium. The Mexico international knows where the goal is, and is a really big weapon for Pellegrini to be able to introduce from the bench. The only thing in favour of this move is the fact that Hernandez is on huge wages at West Ham, and the club may be keen to offload him in order to free up some space on the wage bill.
