West Ham United right-back Ryan Fredericks is back in full training and is in contention for this weekend’s game against Bournemouth, according to exWHUemployee.

The insider – a reliable source of news on the Hammers – revealed on podcast the ‘West Ham Way’ that the summer signing is available for Saturday’s clash with the Cherries after sustaining a shin injury a few months ago.

He adds that the speedster is back in full training ahead of the weekend after being sidelined back in November, when the Mirror reported that he would be out for the rest of the season.

“Fredericks is back in full training as well and will be available for selection for Bournemouth,” he said on the podcast [1:46:46].

OPINION

What a major boost this news will be for Manuel Pellegrini. There is no doubting that Pablo Zabaleta is a reliable right-back – as he has proved so many times this season – but the fact that Fredericks can now take over and give him a rest is just the news the fans would have been wanting to hear. When Zabaleta has been absent this season, Michail Antonio has had to slip into the role, something which has not worked out too many times so far. This is why they will be relieved that Fredericks is fit again, as it means that Antonio will no longer have to deputise. It will also give him the opportunity to prove to Pellegrini that he is worthy of a regular starting XI place ahead of his veteran teammate, so he must make the most of it if he is selected to start against the Cherries.
