West Ham are interested in Brentford trio Ollie Watkins, Rico Henry and Neal Maupay, according to exWHUemployee.

The reliable Hammers insider has revealed in the ‘West Ham Way‘ podcast that Manuel Pellegrini has his eyes on the London club, and that there are three particular players have been looked at in recent weeks.

“We’ve scouted a couple of Brentford players. One’s called Watkins – Ollie Watkins – he’s a midfielder, Rico Henry who is a left-back, and I mentioned Maupay on the show last week,” he said [1.18.25].

Sky Sports reports that Maupay is valued at over £20million by Brentford.

OPINION

All three players are real talents in the Championship, so it is no surprise that the Hammers have been keeping an eye on them all. One name that particularly stands out is striker Neal Maupay, who has been prolific this season by scoring an impressive 16 goals in 28 games for the Bees. He would be a great addition to the squad, but it remains to be seen whether he would be able to replicate that type of form on a bigger stage that is the Premier League. Watkins is also a talent to watch out for after netting seven goals and providing four assists for his side this term. However, signing a winger like Watkins should not be the Irons’ priority right now, especially with Samir Nasri having just been signed and Manuel Pellegrini having the likes of Felipe Anderson and Robert Snodgrass at his disposal. As for Henry, he seems to be an up and coming player – a move that could prove risky for the manager.
