Alan Shearer shared that he thought West Ham were the better side during the 3-0 win over Newcastle United on Saturday.
The Magpies legend via his personal Twitter account shared that the Hammers deserved to win and label Rafa Benitez’s side as toothless for their latest display at St James Park.

Shearer was then asked what he thought of defender Issa Diop’s performance against the Magpies and highlighted the centre-back display by publicly tweeting back that he thought was ‘very good’ once again.

OPINION
Shearer had no quarrels about the Hammers securing a comfortable victory over his beloved Newcastle United and it is easy to see why. While the Magpies pushed the Hammers hard in the first 45 minutes and could have felt unlucky to fall behind, they disappeared as the game went on. The Hammers were clinical in front of goal, especially attacker Javier Hernandez, and it was easy to see that they deserved their victory. As for Shearer highlighted Diop’s display, it’s no more than the summer recruit deserves. The centre-back has continually been one of the standout performers in Manuel Pellegrini’s side and looks destined to achieve big things in football. Hopefully he is able to fulfil his destiny with the Hammers because that would mean the club would be very successful as you feel silverware definitely lies in Diop’s future one way or another. While the London club only welcomed the centre-back in the summer, given how he has settled into life in the Premier League, they can expect to be having to knock some offers back at the end of the season.
