Danny Murphy heaped praise on West Ham attacker Grady Diangana for his performance during his side’s 4-2 win over Burnley.

The pundit, regularly seen on BBC’s Match of the Day, shared that he thought the 20-year-old winger was clearly playing with confidence and looked a real threat during his last outing.

Murphy when complimenting Diangana’s talents, also shared that he thought the Hammers had been a tad unfortunate this season when it came to results going their way.

“I need to mention the young lad, Diangana, who has come through the youth policy there, another one, what a player he looks,” said the BBC pundit on talkSPORT (Monday, November 5 12:23).

“Dribbler, real threat, should have had a penalty, stonewall penalty, I can’t for the life of me understand why that wasn’t given.

“He made his debut in 2018 and has only been on the scene very very recently but talk about a young man playing with confidence, playing in a side that hasn’t been great at home in terms of results.

“They have been a tad unfortunate in games West Ham.”

OPINION

Diangana has burst onto the scene at the London Stadium and it should be no surprise that Murphy was blown away by him after watching him take part in the demolition of Burnley. The 5ft 11in tall attacker (Source: Transfermarket) was too much for Sean Dyche’s side to handle and had a field day when playing them on Saturday. Diangana was wrongly robbed of earning his side a penalty, which was pointed out from Burnley, but he still found a way to help his side get a win. The 20-year-old clearly is making the most of his run in the first team and it will be interesting to see his development continue. Hopefully Diangana is able to keep his high standard of performances up as due to his continued excellence the loss of Andriy Yarmolenko to injury, hasn’t been as painful due to him stepping up in the Ukrainian’s absence. However Manuel Pellegrini must avoid relying on the youngster too much as due to his age, his form could fluctuate.
