Paul Merson heaped praise on West Ham attacker Grady Diangana for his performance during the 4-2 win over Burnley on Saturday.

The Sky Sports pundit shared that he thought the 20-year-old winger was very good and shared that Marko Arnautovic gave the youngster the biggest compliment by always looking to get the ball to him.

Merson also added when delivering his verdict on the Hammers’ latest display that they looked very good when on the attack.

“The young kid Diangana was very good, him and Arnuatovic together, playing one-twos and every time Arnautovic got the ball he looked for him and that’s the biggest compliment you could say looking at the young kid,” said the pundit on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday (Saturday November 3rd, 17:36).

“They were very good going forward.”

OPINION

Merson is right to suggest that Arnautovic’s determination to give the ball to Diangana was the star’s way of complimenting his teammate. The Hammers youngster clearly has impressed his side’s key player and it’s a reflection of his continued excellent performances. Hopefully the promising gem continues to stay in Manuel Pellegrini’s plans and keeps up the level of performances he is currently delivering. Diangana looks like having a bright future at the London Stadium and will just get better and better with every passing game. The young winger is clearly learning from his experience while also not resting on his laurels. Diangana may not be the finished product, which sees him make some mistakes, but he is worth keeping the faith in. The 20-year-old is a joy to watch and the type of player who can get Hammers fans cheering at the London Stadium. Hammers supporters love watching exciting players especially ones that have come through the club’s academy just like Diangana.
