Arsenal legend Ray Parlour shared that he enjoyed watching Tottenham play while looking ahead to their clash with West Ham on Saturday.

The 45-year-old shared that he was attending Spurs’ clash with the Hammers and that he was looking forward to the game due to it looking like an enjoyable prospect.

TalkSPORT host Adrian Durham then asked Parlour whether that meant he loved watching Spurs play and the former Gunner admitted that he wouldn’t go that far, but that he did enjoy seeing them play as they’re a good side now.

“I wouldn’t say that (when asked whether he loves watching them) but they’re a good side now, I’m not gonna sit hear just because I played for Arsenal and say oh no they’re useless,”

“But I also like watching West Ham as well, I think on their day, they can be alright as well.”

OPINION

It seems that Parlour is looking forward to a good London derby on Saturday and hopefully it delivers. While the former Arsenal player’s Tottenham admission will likely raise some eyebrows due to the rivalry between the Gunners and Spurs, his comments on the Hammers are intriguing as well. Hammers supporters have long been crying out for a manager that plays attractive football and Manuel Pellegrini looks like fitting the bill. While Parlour doesn’t directly mention the former Manchester City boss as he is attending Saturday’s game as a neutral, it’s a good indication of the current feeling towards the Hammers from inside the footballing world. Seeing as the retired Premier League star shares that he enjoys watching the Hammers as they can be alright on their day, then it proves that perhaps the Hammers’ reputation for providing an entertaining game is once again heading in the right direction. As there were very few, if any, pundits openly admitting that they were excited about their trip to the London Stadium under David Moyes in particular last season.
