West Ham must blow fans away by pinching Everton’s reported astonishing plan to lure Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey to them this summer.
The Sun reported on Wednesday that the Toffees was set to spare no expense in order to ensure they won the race to sign the Gunners’ midfield maestro when his contract expires at the end of this season.
The newspaper claimed that Marco Silva’s side were willing to cover the player’s £15million signing-on fee and offering him a lucrative five-year deal which see him earn £150,000-a-week.
This is an astonishing plan by the Toffees to have as it would be a jawdropping move that would see them end up with a very talented player.
Ramsey at the age of 27 is about to hit his peak in football as he has plenty of experience under his belt and still has several years in the game at the top-level.
The central midfielder is technically gifted and has a sublime passing range which could cause any defender problems in the Premier League.
Ramsey, who has 55 caps for Wales and has featured 242 times in the Premier League, is a dramatic improvement on all of the Hammers’ current midfielders and would help take the club to the next level due to his experience and ability.
This means the London club need to pinch Everton’s plan to lure Ramsey to Goodison Park, in order to tempt him to the London Stadium instead.
The Hammers have previously shown they’re not afraid to spend money and pursuing the 27-year-old would be worth throwing every available penny at him, as he would be a potential gamechanger for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
If the London club were successful then Ramsey’s arrival would blow fans away due to the stature of the player and the fact he will be highly sought after due to his contract status.
However it is something the Hammers should aim to do as not only will signing Ramsey be a really big boost for supporters it would enable success to arrive at the club as well.
