OPINION

A boost for Tottenham is a blow for the Hammers as Manuel Pellegrini’s side would have had an easier task when it comes to winning on Saturday if Eriksen and Dembele had been ruled out. It’s understandable why Spurs fans are so happy over the update on Dembele and Eriksen as clearly the duo can do damage to the Hammers. Eriksen, in particular, has the ability to find pockets of space in order to create chances for his side and the Hammers have to keep a close eye on him. While Spurs are better for having the midfield duo back, the Hammers shouldn’t give up hope about achieving a victory on Saturday. Pellegrini’s team brushed aside Manchester United in their last outing at the London Stadium and could overcome Spurs if they submit a similar performance. However the Hammers have to be at their best to deliver that sort of display as they dropped the ball against Brighton and paid the price. The Seagulls defeated Pellegrini’s side 1-0 ahead of the international break and it was particularly due to the Hammers making it easy for them.
