West Ham are interested in one of MLS side Atlanta United’s players, according to reliable club insider ExWHUemployee.

The trusted source of Hammers information was asked by a Hammers supporter whether the club were interested in bringing Miguel Almiron, the fan got his name slightly wrong, to the London Stadium in January.

“I don’t think that is quite his name but yes we are interested in one of their players,” said ExWHUemployee via their Twitter account.

TyC Sports reported earlier this month that the Hammers were in pursuit of the 24-year-old attack midfielder, with The Sun previously claiming in July that the Hammers had held talks with the player’s representation over a potential move for him in January.

OPINION

Given that Almiron is the only Atlanta United player that has been constantly linked to the Hammers then it’s safe to say, he is probably who the London club are interested in. The 24-year-old is regularly in the headlines for his club for all the right reasons as he is a clinical finisher who can’t help but score in his current campaign. Almiron has scored 12 goals and registered 13 assists so far in 2018 and could easily boost the Hammers’ firepower. Manuel Pellegrini is no doubt slightly concerned about the Hammers when it comes to their finishing ability as aside from Marko Arnautovic, no one has really looked lethal in front of goal this season. That could all change if Almiron rocked up at the club as the attacking midfielder looks like have the necessary tools to exceed and make a name for himself in the Premier League. Hopefully the Hammers make their  interest in the player concrete, if is indeed him, as he could be an inspired signing.
