Karren Brady compared life at West Ham to a soap opera when delivering her verdict on the current squad in her latest column for The Sun.

The current Hammers vice-chairman dedicated her latest column in the national newspaper to explaining why she preferred the Premier League over the Champions League.

While explaining her love of England’s top division, Brady shared that she thought the current players at the Hammers were excellent and that with good management the club could succeed.

“It’s a weekly Star Wars of football — fabulously wealthy, competitive thrills, fluctuating fortunes, stunning rises and shocking falls. And at West Ham, sometimes all in a week!” wrote Brady in her latest column for The Sun.

“I love the whole hope opera (Soap Opera). Nothing comes easily. You think the team is good but, other than perhaps City and possibly Liverpool, no team is good enough.

“No matter how much money you throw at your club, it takes a lot more than money, prayers and passion to keep the team up there.

“And I guess at West Ham we think the current players are excellent and with good management can succeed. Let’s hope so.”

OPINION

Brady inadvertently heaped some pressure on Manuel Pellegrini when delivering her verdict on the Hammers’ current squad as she claimed good management would bring success. This means that if the experienced manager isn’t able to lead his current crop of players to more positive results shortly, then sounds like the board know who they’re going to blame already. The Hammers picked up their first win of the season last weekend against Everton at Goodison Park but face a tough task making it two wins on the bounce. Pellegrini’s side are set to take on the unbeaten Chelsea at the London Stadium on Sunday and it’s going to be hard to beat them given all the world-class talent and current momentum they have. However the Hammers looked like everything had fallen into place for them during the 3-1 victory over the Toffees so who knows, perhaps the Hammers can inflict misery on their London rivals.
