A section of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to destroy the performance of Michail Antonio following the 0-0 draw with Chelsea on Sunday.
The 28-year-old replaced striker Marko Arnautovic in the starting XI to face the Blues at the weekend, but Manuel Pellegrini did not manage to find a way through in order to get their second win.
The Hammers now sit on four points following this result, and many fans have taken to Twitter to slam Antonio, who spurned a number of good opportunties in the first half.
Some comments included “showing his lazy traits” and “a waste of space.”

OPINION
Michail Antonio did look sprightly for large periods of time, but it is hard not to agree with the fans’ verdict of the player here. He had a number of chances – especially in the first half – to put the Hammers ahead, but he spurned all of them. He even missed a shot from close range, and he should be doing better than that if he wants to keep a regular place in the first team. As one fan put it, he is showing his “lazy traits” – and that is not the type of player that Manuel Pellegrini wants in his team. They really missed Marko Arnautovic on the pitch today, as he is a player who could have buried the opportunities that were presented to him. It is a shame, as Antonio can be a good footballer – but he just did not make a good case for himself here. Many supporters seem to be in agreement of his display – and he must do better next time, if given the chance.
