West Ham United centre-back Josh Pask is wanted on loan by Scottish Premier League side Dundee United, according to club insider Claret and Hugh.

Claret and Hugh – who are a reliable source of news on the Hammers – report on their website the Scottish outfit are eager to take the 20-year-old on loan for the season after an impressive campaign for the club’s under-23 side.

However, the Irons are said to still be mulling over Dundee’s loan request for the young ace, who is considered one of the Academy’s brightest talents.

Josh Cullen is another player likely to make a move after a number of Championship clubs tabled offers for the midfielder.

OPINION

Josh Pask is considered one of the Academy’s best young prospects, so it comes as no surprise that Dundee are keen to take the youngster on a season-long loan. His first team opportunites at West Ham are limited following the arrivals of Fabian Balbuena and Issa Diop earlier this summer, so his best chance of regular game time would be to make the move to Scotland. He is only 20, which means he is not expected to make an impact on the Hammers at the moment – and he will only get better and better playing for Dundee. His confidence will soar as a result, and this can only be good news for Manuel Pellegrini, who saw some of his defence fall to pieces following their woeful display against Bournemouth. If he goes on loan, upon his return he will likely be considered for a spot in the senior squad – but with the club still mulling over a potential move, it remains to be seen whether it will happen.
