West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini has set about his work admirably this summer, quickly identifying the areas that needed bolstering ahead of the new season.

The Hammers are now stronger in every area of the pitch, with defensive, midfield and attacking additions making this West Ham squad one of the most exciting seen at the club for many years.

And it does not look like the Hammers’ transfer business is quite over yet this summer, with the Mirror claiming the club are looking to strike a part-exchange deal with Porto involving midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate and striker Moussa Marega.

This would be a huge move for the Hammers to make to round off their summer of spending, and one that would give them a seriously formidable attacking force heading into 2018/19.

The club already had the talents of Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez to call upon up front, with Andy Carroll waiting in the wings, and the addition of Marega would add another huge goal threat to that number.

The Mali international scored an impressive 23 goals in all competitions last season for Porto, who romped to the Primeira Liga title on the back of his efforts and made the last-16 of the Champions League.

The 27-year-old is a tricky customer, with his powerful build and good pace allowing him to bully defenders and get into goalscoring positions.

The further additions of Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko in wide areas mean that service into the box will be much improved as well this season, which should lead to even more chances.

The combined forces of Arnautovic, Hernandez, Marega, Carroll, Anderson and Yarmolenko would mean that West Ham have one of the most exciting forward lines in the Premier League next season.

The club must now push hard for a deal for Marega to make that a reality, with that group of players sure to bring goals and excitement to the London Stadium next term.
