West Ham United are set for talks with Porto this week to discuss a swap deal involving Cheikhou Kouyate and striker Moussa Marega among other things, according to a club insider.

ExWHUemployee, who is an established source for Hammers insider information, posted to his Twitter account on Monday that discussions were set to take place early this week.

Ex further claimed that West Ham were looking to discuss several thing with the Portuguese champions, with the part-exchange involving Kouyate and goal machine Marega not the only deal in the pipeline.

OPINION

This is an exciting update for West Ham fans, who will be hoping for one or two more arrivals before the season gets underway in 11 days time. It had looked like midfielder Kouyate was heading to Premier League rivals Palace, but the Hammers’ search for a new striker seems to have led them to Porto. If this deal does go through, then it would be a seriously impressive move from the club, who would be getting a goal machine in return. Marega scored 23 goals in all competitions last season, and the powerful striker has all the attributes to be a huge success in the Premier League. His addition would give the Hammers some serious firepower going forward, and would make them a threat to anyone next season. It will also be interesting to see if any other deals come out of these talks, with Ex seemingly implying that there are other players the Hammers would like to discuss with Porto.
