West Ham youngster Grady Diangana has signed a two-year contract with the club, it has been confirmed.

The Hammers announced on their official website that the 20-year-old attacker has penned a fresh deal that keeps him at the club until 2020.

He is a product of the club’s academy and is a highly-rated winger that was a regular feature in the Under-23s side in the recent season.

The Englishman has been with the Londoners since the age of 10 and was promoted to the first-team squad on a few occasions recently, but is still waiting for his senior debut.

Diangana will hope that he can force his way into the plans of new first-team manager Manuel Pellegrini at some stage and make a long awaited first appearance at senior level.

Good move for West Ham?

Diangana is a versatile attacker that can play anywhere across the frontline if required and there certainly appears to be belief that he can have a future at the London Stadium. He was an unused substitute in two Premier League matches under David Moyes at the back end of the 2017/18 season and is clearly one of the rising stars pushing to make the breakthrough. Hammers defender Declan Rice has shown there is a clear path that allows you to go from the academy to the first team and the club have had many success stories over the years. Pellegrini will be filled in on the rising stars at his disposal following his move to West Ham and Diangana surely has to be one of those mentioned. He can only continue working hard at youth level and should be encouraged by being rewarded with a new contract by the club.
