A Manchester United bid for Marko Arnautovic spells trouble for West Ham even if the club remain strong regarding their stance not to sell him.

There has been a £60million price tag placed firmly on the powerhouse forward’s services with the Hammers bracing themselves for a bid from Man United as their interest remains in Arnautovic, according to the Daily Mirror.

While it is clearly stated in the paper’s report that the Hammers hierarchy have no intention of selling their star player despite the allure of Man United looming over him, it’s the forward’s potential reaction to this decision that could prove costly.

The 29-year-old has never been one to hide from his emotions and previously early in his career had Jose Mourinho state that he had the attitude of a child, as quoted by The Telegraph.

Time may have significantly passed and the forward has shown sides of growth in regards to his maturity, but the suggestion that he’s capable of being petulant has remained with him.

In fact near the start of his Hammers career Jamie Carragher ridiculed the forward for his performance against Brighton, as quoted by Sky Sports, accusing him of walking in the match when his side needed him at his best to help them.

Gary Neville also chimed in at the time to say that in Arnautovic’s head he saw himself on the same level as Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

While the forward then went on to be the Hammers hero, scoring 11 goals, in the 2017/18 campaign to help ensure the club’s Premier League status if he wants to leave, he will make his feelings known in the worst way.

If Man United are set to make their interest in him concrete with a bid then the star player seen in the second half of the Hammers’ last campaign will disappear and be replaced by someone throwing their toys out of the pram.

With him being 29-years-old, the forward will jump at the chance to join a club competing for the league title as well as regularly being in the Champions League because it may be the last time a club of that nature is willing to invest heavily in getting his services.

Once a player hits 30 it seems everyone has their doubts about making big money investments in them.

Therefore as the Hammers seem to believe an offer is incoming, it spells trouble for the club no matter their response as Arnautovic will no doubt throw a tantrum, one way or another, to ensure the club allow him to join a club such a Man United.
