Latest West Ham report concerning Manuel Pellegrini may have fans worried already but the experienced boss is simply playing the game to his advantage.

The Daily Mirror boldly claimed that there was already trouble in paradise at the Hammers as Pellegrini had concerns about the board knocking back his requests regarding how to strengthen the club’s squad.

The national newspaper also quoted remarks that the former Manchester City manager made during a speech in Chile last week and these comments should dispel any fears about the Mirror’s worrying update.

“The challenge with West Ham is spectacular,” stated Pellegrini.

“Now I will force the owners to form a competitive team because they are rich but careful with money.

“We are trying to get the owner to loosen up to make an important investment and thus bring the players we need, the idea is to sign a great figure.”

With these latest comments the new Hammers boss puts all the pressure on the club’s hierarchy as fans will now be looking directly at them if they mess up in this transfer window.

Pellegrini has successfully side-stepped any blame with his pre-emphatic comments which not only shows that he’s already crushing it at club but prove former boss David Moyes was naive.

The Scottish manager previously publicly bemoaned the culture of these sort of stories emerging from the Hammers, claiming leaks of these nature, the Mirror’s original story, were rooted in the heart of the club.

“It’s difficult, I’ve had to come to terms with the culture of West Ham and the culture of West Ham seems to be that leaks are part of it,” said Moyes in May, as quoted by the Telegraph.

“Can I change it? I’m sure every manager who has come in has tried to change it. I’ve tried not to waste any energy and get too wound up by it because I think it is the culture of West Ham United.”

Moyes shrugged off the suggestion that there was anyway to deal with this toxic issue and based on the fact Pellegrini is already coming out strong from a negative leak, it shows the former boss’ naivety.

The new Hammers boss is already using the media to make the narrative surrounding the club what he wants it to be, which means if there’s a negative issue the illustrious manager is making sure it doesn’t impact him negatively.

This is the approach that Moyes should have taken but anytime a potentially damaging story emerged the former Everton boss just seemed to make it worse when addressing it.

The whole Andy Carroll saga was only big news as Moyes kept dragging it up and didn’t put it to bed.

Therefore fans shouldn’t be too worried about stories regarding Pellegrini’s unhappiness emerging as he will simply use them to find a way to get what he wants at the club, which proves how naive Moyes was regarding the problem.
