Felipe Anderson is set to quit Lazio this summer as West Ham work on a blockbuster deal to sign him, according to Sky Sports’ premier transfer expert on his personal website.

Sky Sports Italy’s Gianluca Di Marzio, who is renowned for breaking stories in both his homeland and across the globe, reported that Anderson’s agents will meet with Lazio officials tomorrow to discuss his future.

Di Marzio explained that the chances of Anderson staying at the Serie A club are “slim” as all parties try to engineer a transfer amid interest from West Ham, who Gazzetta dello Sports correspondent Nicolo Schira claimed last night have submitted a £33million bid for the player and are in advanced talks over a five-year contract.

OPINION

West Ham fans will love this update from the super-reliable Di Marzio. As reported earlier today on Forever West Ham, supporters are getting increasingly excited about the links to Anderson and what appears strong and sustained interest from their club. It appears that super-agent Kia Joorabchian, who Hammers will remember from his controversial role in the Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano third-party transfers, has been given a mandate to find a buyer for Anderson, and it could well turn out to be West Ham. They would need to smash their £24million transfer record, spent on Mark Arnautovic last summer, to get him, but the Brazil international is one of the most potent attackers in Serie A and has the potential to be a big hit in the Premier League. Aged 25, he is entering his peak years and is a proven goal scorer and creator, even managing to score eight goals and supply 10 assists in 2017-18 despite missing half of the season due to injury.
