West Ham must meet Lazio’s £35million demand for Felipe Anderson in full if they wish to sign the winger, according to the Daily Mirror.

The newspaper state that the Hammers have had two offers turned down so far with their last offer seeing them willing to pay £28million up front and £5million in add-ons.

The Daily Mirror report that the Italian giants are unwilling to budge on their asking price as they have to pay Anderson’s previous club Santos a 20% cut of any fee.

It is believed that the Brazilian winger already has an agreement in place with the Hammers with talks between the two clubs still ongoing.

OPINION

Anderson, who predominately plays on the right-side of the pitch but can also feature as an attacking midfielder, is worth the club paying £35million for. The Hammers need to find a way of meeting Lazio’s price tag for the midfielder as they are in touching distance of sealing a deal for his services. As their latest offer would have seen them pay £28million up front to get Anderson, that is only £7million short without adds-on being taken into account. The national newspaper also state that the Hammers are willing to listen to offers for Michail Antonio and perhaps his departure will help find the funds to make up the difference. Crystal Palace are thought to be interested in the current Hammers player and they should be willing to at least pay £7million in order to successfully bring him to Selhurst Park. Hopefully Roy Hodgson believes in acting fast in the transfer market as then the Hammers could wrap up a deal for Anderson very swiftly.
