West Ham have re-opened talks over signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore, according to Sky Sports.
The broadcaster claim that according to their sources the Hammers were back in discussions about sealing a deal that would be worth up to £17.5million in order to bring the 28-year-old attacking midfielder to the London Stadium.
Sky Sports report that PSG are willing to sell Pastore, who has scored 45 goals in 261 games for the French giants, as they aim to comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.
Good Move for West Ham?
Sort of.
The prospect of Pastore wearing a Hammers shirt in the near future is an enticing one but you still wonder if he is worth the money.
Sky Sports previously revealed in a report that the midfielder wanted £190,000-a-week in order to join the club and that his high-wage demands had seen talks about a move to London stopped in its track.
However if there has been a change of heart on the player’s part and he’s willing to lower his demands than this would be an excellent signing by Manuel Pellegrini.
The attacking midfielder is a sensational talent who would excite fans and bring success to the club but without it being known why the Hammers had reignited their interest, it’s hard to evaluate this potential move at this stage.

Likely to happen?
The Hammers’ interest cannot be denied at this stage but after talks were halted before it’s unclear whether it will be any different this time around.
It will all come down to whether the player is willing to earn less than £190,000-a-week as it’s unlikely that the Hammers have decided to give into his demands.
One thing is clear though if there is any chance that a reasonable deal can be reach with Pastore over him becoming a Hammers player, Pellegrini is determined to find it.
This deal has wait and see written all over it as hopefully it will be able to get beyond the first hurdle this time around.
