West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to express their excitement amid reports the club are closing in on the signing of Lazio forward Felipe Anderson.
Gazzetta dello Sport correspondent Nicolo Schira reported on his personal Twitter account late on Tuesday night that super-agent Kia Joorabchian is working feverishly on a deal to take the 25-year-old attacker to the London Stadium.
Schira explained that West Ham have submitted a £33million bid for Anderson and that he is in advanced talks on a five-year contract.
#FelipeAnderson is really close to #WestHam! He’s in advanced talks for 5-year contract. Hammers offered €38 million to #Lazio. Kia is working on this deal #WHUFC #transfers

Anderson has spent the last five years at Lazio and has developed into one of the most potent attackers in Serie A operating mainly from a right flank role.
He missed half of the recently-completed season through injury but still weighed in with eight goals and 10 assists from all competitions.
West Ham fans are getting increasingly excited by their club’s pursuit of a player of real pedigree, commenting “get it done” and “please be true” in response to Schira’s exciting and significant update.
Forever West Ham has rounded up some of the best tweets:

@Forever_WestHam Shouldn’t we be a little concerned that Kia Joorabchian was the bloke that ‘part-owned’ Tevez and Mascherano and ended up costing us £45m? Strange we’d do business with him again.
