West Ham have been sucked back into the fight to avoid relegation from the Premier League following Sunday’s defeat to Manchester City, with the Hammers sitting just three points above the drop zone with three matches left to play.

David Moyes’ side travel to face Leicester City this weekend, before finishing the campaign with back-to-back clashes at the London Stadium with Manchester United and Everton, and the club’s quest to pick up points has been handed a serious boost.

The GuardianĀ states that experienced defender James Collins has returned to training this week following his injury absence, while Pedro Obiang could feature for the first time in four months.

Collins, who is expected to leave east London upon the expiration of his contract in just a few months time, last featured in the 3-0 defeat to Burnley in March, with Obiang not seeing action since sustaining an injury in January’s FA Cup defeat to Wigan.

The clash with Leicester is likely too soon for either to start but they could take a spot on the bench.
