David Moyes is keen to improve his midfield options at West Ham this summer and the Hammers have received encouragement to make a move for a long-term target.

Anderlecht’s Leander Dendoncker was widely linked with a move to the London Stadium in January and the Belgium international was reported left unhappy with his failure to secure a move to the Premier League, raising the possibility of a transfer this summer.

Now, following a poor spell of form, Dendoncker has improved his performances and is back in the running to make Roberto Martinez’s World Cup squad this summer, giving him a chance to attract further interest in the market.

Dendoncker’s performances earned praise from manager Hein Vanhaezebrouck following his display in the weekend’s win over RSC Charleroi, where he scored and contributed an assist, with the coach telling HLN:

“Leander was top, but this has been the case for weeks, we have been defensively strong lately, but with Dendoncker you also have someone who is strong on the ball.”

The upturn in form could be the catalyst to West Ham renewing their interest in the 22-year-old this summer.
