West Ham boss David Moyes still has work to do to save the club from relegation in the final weeks of the campaign but he’s already cast one eye towards potential business in the close season transfer window.

Midfield is likely to be an area of focus for the Scottish boss, having failed to land a number of targets in that area, and positive reports have emerged from the continent to suggest that a prime target is being lined-up.

Portuguese outlet A Bola claim West Ham are preparing a €30m offer to land Sporting Lisbon ace Rodrigo Battaglia, with it added that the Hammers expect that figure will be enough to tempt the Europa League quarter-finalists into a sale.

Battaglia has a release-clause of €60m in his contract with the Portuguese side but it’s widely reported that Sporting are prepared to accept a lower amount for the 26-year-old, although West Brom are said to have seen a €20m offer in January rejected.
