West Ham are reportedly closing in on appointing Manuel Pellegrini as their next manager and he looks set to succeed David Moyes at the helm.

The Hammers are on the search for a new boss ahead of next season and the 64-year-old is said to be in pole position.

Reliable journalist Luke Edwards, who works for the Telegraph, has reported on his personal Twitter account that the Chilean’s move to West Ham is “almost done”.

Pellegrini previously won the Premier League with Manchester City back in 2014 and is currently in charge of Chinese Super League side Hebei China Fortune.

His return to England is reportedly close and Hammers supporters should already begin thinking about transfer targets that the high-profile manager can attract.

The stars well may be aligned for Yaya Toure to make a sensational switch to the London Stadium, as he is available this summer following the expiration of his contract at Man City.

Pellegrini worked with Toure for three years at the Etihad Stadium and was a key player under him.

The central midfielder scored 20 Premier League goals during the title-winning campaign under him and certainly proved he can get the best out of the Ivory Coast legend.

He is now a 35-year-old reaching the latter stages of his career, but the Mirror has reported that the trio of Everton, Burnley and Wolves are in the hunt to sign him.

It is understood that the deep-lying playmaker could look to stay in the Premier League and Pellegrini’s reported return to England could be perfect timing.
